He Took A Mistress I Premiere Full Episodes Watch and Enjoy Free

Five Apps, Six Rounds, No Participation Trophies

Short-drama apps stopped being a fringe curiosity some time ago. According to Sensor Tower, the category earned about $700M in worldwide in-app revenue in Q1 2025, with 49% of it coming from the US. Full-year 2025 came in at roughly $2.8–3B, and by Q1 2026 the quarterly figure had grown to about $750M. ReelShort, DramaBox, ShortMax, My Drama and DramaWave are the five names that lead the conversation, and any shopper who has searched a store for a short reels app has met at least one of them. At first glance, they look identical: vertical episodes, a cliffhanger He Took a Mistress I Took the Sky every minute or two and a weekly pass sitting behind the paywall. The differences lie underneath, in ownership, pricing, platforms and extras, and they affect what you pay and where you can watch. Over six rounds, we named a winner in each, relying on only store listings, company terms and published industry data as of September 2026.

The Big Comparison Grid

The table below puts the whole field on one screen before the rounds begin. All prices are taken from the US App Store as of September 2026, and they vary by country, platform and promotion. We pulled install counts from each app’s Google Play listing. Market shares are Media Partners Asia estimates for the microdrama market outside China. Wherever a cell says “not reported”, no reliable source published the figure, and we would rather leave a gap than guess. See the rounds below as the commentary and the grid as the scoreboard.

Round 1: Ownership and Size

ReelShort, the incumbent, continues to carry the most weight. It was launched by Crazy Maple Studio, a Sunnyvale company backed by China’s COL Group, in August 2022, and MPA gives it about 29% of the market outside China. MPA also pegs its 2025 revenue at $785M and forecasts $1.05B for 2026. Singapore’s StoryMatrix runs DramaBox as a subsidiary of Beijing Dianzhong Technology; the app launched in April 2023 and holds about 21%. By Q1 2026 the two were tied at roughly $140M each, with DramaBox ranked first, although in Q1 2025, Sensor Tower had ReelShort ahead $130M to $120M. DramaWave, often mistyped as “dreamwave”, is the youngest app here, yet it already holds about 13% and its annualized revenue reportedly passed $700M by Q2 2026. My Drama is the minnow, with 5M+ Android installs, but it is the only one with Fox Entertainment as a shareholder. Run from Hong Kong, ShortMax appears to be the same app as ShortTV from Jiuzhou Culture. GoodShort, for context, holds about 6% and sits just outside this lineup. Winner: ReelShort, by a narrow margin, on market share.

Round 2: What It Costs

This is the round where the apps look most alike. On the US App Store, ReelShort, ShortMax, My Drama and DramaWave all sell a weekly pass at about $19.99, and each one renews automatically. ShortMax also offers a $9.99 “Weekly Pass Pro”, and DramaWave’s weekly VIP begins at $7.99. DramaBox goes a different route: auto-renewing memberships at $5.99, $17.99 and $19.99, plus special offers from $4.99. Among these US listings, the only verified monthly plan is DramaWave’s monthly VIP at $36.99, the clear standout. Since four weeks of a $19.99 weekly pass come to about $80, a monthly plan at less than half that is the wiser buy for steady viewers. Because prices change by country, platform and promotion, the number on your screen may be different. Round winner: DramaWave, whose monthly plan beats four weekly renewals by a wide margin.

Round 3: Free Options

Free viewing is where the marketing turns loud and the details get thin. According to ReelShort’s own blog, the first 5 to 15 episodes of a series are usually free, and one rewarded ad opens up two premium episodes. A seven-day check-in streak brings 100+ coins, but free reward coins usually expire, while paid coins do not. Official ReelShort channels on YouTube, TikTok and Dailymotion are the easiest legitimate way to sample a reel short drama without paying. DramaBox also offers free options, but its exact figures for free episodes, ad caps and check-in coins appear only in third-party guides. Stay away from look-alike sites, modded APKs and “unlimited coins” generators, which are unofficial and never a safe shortcut. The winner: ReelShort, by a clear margin.

Round 4: Platforms

Screens are where these apps genuinely split apart. ReelShort streams in a browser at reelshort.com, and progress syncs across devices, while also covering iPhone, iPad, Apple silicon Macs, Vision Pro and Android. ShortMax offers web browsing too, since its domain redirects to the ShortTV website. DramaBox’s website mostly points you back to the app, and DramaWave’s verified presence is its iOS and Android apps. The trump card belongs to My Drama, with an Apple TV app for tvOS 18 or later, something ReelShort’s App Store listing does not show. Need nothing more than a shorts app on your phone? Any of the five will do. Winner: ReelShort overall, while My Drama claims the living room.

Round 5: Libraries and Original Series

ShortMax is unbeatable on raw numbers. More than 600 mini-dramas for overseas markets had been made by the company behind ShortTV as of January 2024 (most of them dubbed Chinese adaptations), and the app claims 50,000+ dramas in 19 languages. DramaWave claims 30,000+ dramas in 18 languages, and reports say more than 80% of its newly released content is AI-generated. On recognizable hits, ReelShort comes out ahead, thanks to The Double Life of My Billionaire Husband and Fated to My Forbidden Alpha, both of which went viral in November 2023. An LA production team and originals such as Fake Dating My Rich Nemesis are DramaBox’s response. The most intriguing pipeline belongs to My Drama, since Fox has committed to 200+ vertical titles over two years. Round winner: ShortMax, on pure volume.

Round 6: Extras and Fine Print

DramaWave comfortably takes this one. Its App Store listing promises offline downloads, on-screen comments and 1080p video, and no other app in this comparison has verified offline viewing. ReelShort’s cross-device sync ranks as the next most useful perk for viewers who switch between phone and laptop. The fine print deserves a look too, because it varies more than the prices do. My Drama forfeits coins after 12 months of inactivity, and ShortMax’s terms say refunds are not given “unless the paid product/service is unusable”. On any of these apps, deleting the app does not cancel your subscription, so cancel in App Store or Google Play settings instead. Round winner: DramaWave.

Best For: The Final Verdict

No single short drama app wins every round, which means the right choice depends on how you watch. ReelShort is best for web viewing, with a full browser player and progress that follows you between devices. Best for Apple TV is My Drama, the one app here with a verified tvOS version and the only one with Fox-produced originals. Pairing offline downloads with a $36.99 monthly plan, DramaWave is best for commuters and steady bingers. ShortMax is best for pure volume, since its claimed 50,000+ dramas overshadow everything else in the grid. Ranked first by Sensor Tower in Q1 2026 and picked for Disney’s 2025 Accelerator class, DramaBox is best for backing the current revenue leader. ReelShort is once again best for free, legitimate sampling, with its ad unlocks, check-in coins and official social channels. Feeling tempted by all five? Choose one, cancel the weekly pass you are not using and let the cliffhangers wait a day.
